ARVO Abstracts Available

Grant News

Together with Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB), Lirot is inviting department chairs of ophthalmology to apply for the RPB-Lirot USA/Israel research exchange program. Send your proposals to Professor Ido Perlman, chair of the Lirot Scientific Council.

With Fight for Sight (FFS), Lirot is offering postdoctoral awards and grants-in-aid. Medical students looking for summer fellowships and Israeli doctors working in the United States are eligible.

Doctors travelling to the USA in 2013

Lirot America, in New York and Baltimore, would like to arrange for Israeli research ophthalmologists to speak with of potential donors about Israeli eye research and efforts in blindness prevention.
Researchers planning to travel to the USA in 2013, perhaps on their way to the annual meeting of the America Academy of Ophthalmology in New Orleans in November, are invited to contact Nadine Hollander, at 054-4230012, or by e-mail, at nadine@eyes.org.il.
Eye Mobile project

Lirot needs doctors, medical students, and other vision specialists to perform eye exams for the Eye Mobile project! The Eye Mobile project offers check-ups for disadvantaged elderly in Israel, including Holocaust survivors and Russian and Ethiopian immigrants. Ethiopian patients, in particular, exhibit a high incidence of glaucoma. To become involved, please contact the Eye Mobile manager, Zidkiyau Baruch, at 052-6267638 or zidky@eyes.org.il.
